Starting the Installation Program

The Netfinity installation program is identical for all operating systems. However, the process used to start the installation program differs depending on which operating system is running.

Before start install the Netfinity installation program you should have configured the A.S.M.A adapters hardware settings.

The drivers can be found on the Adapter Installation Diskette:

Service Processor Manager for OS/2 or NetWare Installation Diskette
Service Processor Manager for Windows 95 or WinNT Installation Diskette
IBM SSA RAID Adapter for PC Servers (Novell Netware Device Driver & Utilities)

Sometime it may be neccessary to disable system board COM-ports, before defining the IRQ and I/O parameters used for the ASMA-adapter. (e.g. use I/O address Hex 200 / IRQ-5).

If the ASMA-adapter hardware setup is configured, start with:

If OS/2 is running, see 'OS/2 Installation'.
If Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 is running,
see 'Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 Installation'.
If Windows NT 3.51 is running, see 'Windows NT 3.51 Installation'.
If NetWare is running, see 'NetWare Installation'.
