Free UMB segment E000-EFFF
PROBLEM - Is there a way to free up upper memory block segment E000-EFFF in
Valuepoint machines?
Machines AFFECTED - All 6382/S, 6384/D, and 6387/T machines.
SOLUTION - A BIOS update can be obtained that frees up 64KB of upper memory (in
E000-EFFF segment). This update must be used along with a change in CONFIG.SYS - add
DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE I=E000-EFFF FRAME=E000
The BIOS update is located on the IBM BBS.
