If you are replacing an existing adapter with a PRO/100 adapter, follow these steps before physically removing the adapter card:
Double-click My Computer.
Double-click Control Panel.
Double-click System.
Click the Device Manager tab.
Double-click Network Adapters.
Select the adapter driver listed below the Network Adapters group and click Remove.
Click OK.
Follow the instructions in the section Put the Adapter in the Computer.

Right-click on the listing for the adapter you want to remove and click Uninstall.

Click the Adapters tab.
Under the "Network Adapters" field, highlight the adapter you’re removing and click the Remove button.
Click OK.
