BIOS release 1.6 for  KV8-MAX3  V1.0


Release information:

1. Please use flash utility AWDFLASH v8.24F to update KV8-MAX3 BIOS.
2. Fixed un-expected warning beeps in certain circumstances
   1) Change the Vcore low limit in ABIT EQ.
   2) Restart Windows
   3) Get into BIOS setup page and then exit.
3. Synchronize the CPU Fan Fail Shutdown function with ABIT EQ.
4. Reserve IRQ 12/14/15/9 for Mouse/IDEchannel0/IDEchannel1/ACPI in 
   the "PnP/PCI Configuration".
5. Fixed the problem that the system will go into STR mode automatically 
   if
   1) The system is waked from STR by "BIOS RTC Alarm Wake Up".
   2) The system stays idle for several minutes.
6. Fixed the problem that the AGP and DDR voltage will be incorrect if
   1) User loaded "Setup Default".
   2) Save and Exit without entering the SoftMenu first.
7. Fixed the problem that the "Memory Hole" function is not functioning.
8. Set the default DDR voltage to 2.6V if the memory is operating at DDR400.
9. Synchronize the Fan EQ function with ABIT EQ.
10. Fixed the incorrect CPU voltage shown in the DMI data.
11. Disable Winbond W83627HF sensor unit to prevent incorrect CPU voltage 
    information shown in some third party software.
12. Change AGP mode item to Auto/4X/2X/1X if AGP 2.0 card is installed and 
    to Auto/4X/8X if AGP 3.0 card is installed.
13. BIOS compile date: 11/07/2003.

1. 請使用更新程式 AWDFLASH v8.24F 更新 KV8-MAX3 BIOS。
2. 修正在下列情況時有非預期警告聲:
   1) 在ABIT EQ 中調低 Vcore 限制
   2) 重新開機
   3) 進 BIOS Setup 之後跳出
3. 修正ABIT EQ無法寫回CPU Fan Failed Shutdown的設定。
4. 在PnP/PCI Configuration選項中保留IRQ 12, IRQ 14, IRQ 15, IRQ 9給 Mouse
   及IDE Channels , IDE Channel1, ACPI IRQ。
5. 修正當有下列情形時, 系統將自行再進入待命狀態:
   1) 系統藉BIOS RTC Alarm Wake Up 由STR mode 啟動
   2) 系統處於閒置狀態數分鐘
6. 修正當有下列情形時, AGP及DDR電壓會出現錯誤:
   1) 使用者 Load Setup Default
   2) 未進入SOFTMENU Setup即Save & Exit
7. 修正Memory Hole選項功能失效。
8. 修改當系統執行在 DDR400且電壓選項為 Default，將DDR VID之預設值改為2.6v。
9. 修正從ABIT EQ將FANEQ選項Disable後 , 再進入BIOS時,BIOS的FANEQ仍然為Enable。
10. 修正DMI中的CPU電壓值顯示錯誤。
11. 修改Disable Winbond W83627HF的Sensor Unit以避免部份 Third Party軟體顯示
    錯誤資訊。
12. 修改 AGP Mode 選項，針對 AGP 2.0 卡有 "Auto","4x","2x","1x"。針對
    AGP 3.0 卡有 "Auto","8x","4x"。

1. How to upgrade BIOS:

 a. Boot into MS-DOS or "Safe mode and command prompt" if you are using
    Windows95/98
 b. Run "kv816.exe" to extract all files.
 c. Run "runme.bat"

           "/py /sn /cd /cp /cc /cks /R" or by "runme.bat".

2.After BIOS updated, pull off the power cord and then clear the CMOS data
  via jumper before restarting system please.
