Abstract: NETFINITY 5000: REMOTE FLASH FAILS W/ WRONG DISKETTE MESSAGE
SYMPTOM:
When you attempt to remotely flash a Netfinity 5000 via Netfinity Manager,
you are prompted to insert the flash diskette.
After you do so and press "OK" to continue, a message comes back that states
"This is the wrong diskette for the target system".
The flash diskette is 00n8617.exe (373080 bytes, 03-31-99) IBM Netfinity 5000 Flash BIOS
Remote Update Diskette (For use with Netfinity Manager) (Level 7) version 1.04
PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:
a Netfinity 5000 server, Type 8659, any Model.
FIX:
This behavior will be fixed in the next release of the Remote BIOS diskette for the Netfinity 5000.
WORKAROUND:
The reason that it does not work is that the diskette does not have the correct volume label.
To get around this you need to enter in a volume label of MOJT28A.
There are many ways to change the volume label of the diskette.
Once such way in to go into My Computer in MS Windows 95 or MS Windows NT.
You can right click on the A drive, and then change the label to MOJT28A.
