Abstract: NETFINITY'S ASM DIMM information DISPLAY ERROR

SYMPTOM:

Connect to a Netfinity 5000 through Netfinity Manager.
Open the Netfinity Service Manager.
Open the Advanced System Management Service.
Open the Configuration Information window.
Open the Memory Information window.

Results:

Note that the DIMM information is shown in reverse order.
For example, the information for physical DIMM slot 1 on the Planar is displayed as DIMM 4 in the Memory Information window.

PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:

The system is a Netfinity 5000 server Type 8659, any Model.

FIX:

The fix is available by downloading the "Advanced Systems Management Processor Firmware Update Diskette v1.01 (Build Level 38A), or later, which is available at the following URL:

http://www.pc.ibm.com/searchfiles.html

WORKAROUND:

Use Netfinity System Information Tools to get memory information.
