Abstract: ETHERNET DIAGNOSTICS FAILS if an EXTERNAL WRAP is ATTACHED

SYMPTOM:

The following Ethernet tests will erroneously report a failure when they are run with an external wrap plug attached to the Ethernet port:

       Ethernet Int 10  MBS Phy Wrap
       Ethernet Int 100 MBS Phy Wrap
       Ethernet Int 100 MBS Twist Wrap


PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:

•  The system is a Netfinity 5500 server, Type 8660, any Model.
•  The system's Diagnostics version 2.00 Fail.

FIX:

With diagnostic version 2.01 these tests will not report erroneous failures with or without an external wrap plug attached to the Ethernet port.

WORKAROUND:

Run the test mentioned without an external wrap plug installed.
