B.0 Appendix B. Sample Configuration
This appendix provides an example of the configuration of the LAN Support
Program Custom Version 1.01. Use this appendix in conjunction with
Chapter 3, "Manual Installation of the LAN Support Program Custom Version
1.01."
The entries in CONFIG.SYS in this example are listed in the correct order.
The path in the example is represented by the directory \LSP. The middle
letters in the device driver names have been highlighted to help you
distinguish one device driver from another.
See Figure B-1 for a diagram that lists the LAN Support Program Custom
Version 1.01 device drivers and shows their logical relationship to one
another.
PICTURE 1
Figure B-1. Interfaces of the LAN Support Program Custom Version 1.01
Notes:
1. DXMA0MOD.SYS is shown twice because it is called before any other LAN
Support Program Custom device driver.
2. The term token-ring network adapter refers to the adapter with which
the LAN Support Program Custom is shipped.
In this example, the computer has one token-ring network adapter and uses
application programs written for the NETBIOS interface or the IEEE 802.2
interface. CONFIG.SYS includes the following statements:
DEVICE=\LSP\DXMA0MOD.SYS
DEVICE=\LSP\DXMC0MOD.SYS
DEVICE=\LSP\DXMT0MOD.SYS
The following example shows the same configuration with changes to some of
the NETBIOS device driver parameters:
DEVICE=\LSP\DXMA0MOD.SYS
DEVICE=\LSP\DXMC0MOD.SYS
DEVICE=\LSP\DXMT0MOD.SYS ST=4 S=4
Notes:
1. The parameters for the NETBIOS device driver request 4 stations and 4
sessions. See Chapter 4, "Customizing the Device Driver Parameters"
for a description of the device driver parameters.
2. If the NETBIOS device driver, DXMT0MOD.SYS, requests too many
resources, the error message
DXMT0 31E:
is displayed. See "Work Area Considerations for LAN Support Program
Custom Version 1.01" in topic 4.7 for more information.
