Processor or Memory Board Installation
To reinstall a processor or memory board:
- Locate the appropriate processor-board or
memory-board connector on the system board.
(Refer to the illustration in 'Processor or Memory Board'.
- Hold the board that you are installing by the two corner latches -6-.
- Slide the board into the appropriate slot guides.
NOTE: Be sure the component side of the primary
processor board -4- is facing toward the adapter
cards and the component side of the secondary
processor board -5- is facing toward the memory board -3-
Make sure you orient the board correctly before
latching it into its connector on the system board.
Failure to do so could damage the board or the connector on the system board.
- Rotate the two corner latches on the top of the board
until the latches are aligned with the top edge of the
board (closed position) and the board is locked into place.
When you install processor boards or memory
boards in the server, be sure that they are completely and correctly seated in the
system-board connectors before you apply power. (The latches on the boards will be
horizontal.) Incomplete insertion might cause damage to the system board or the board that
you are installing.
- Reinstall the board-support panel -2-.
- Align the board-support panel so that the tabs on
the rear edge of the panel fit into the guide slots.
- Close the panel. Check to make sure that the
boards in the slots under the panel are aligned
with the scribe marks -7- on either side of the
holes in the center of the panel.
- Tighten the screws -1- on the board-support panel.
