INSTALLING CMD USB HOST FILTER DRIVER FOR OSR2 AND MEMPHIS [OSR2] System should have USBsupplement installed prior to load filter driver. 1. Make a directory called FILTER in c: root directory and copy filter.zip file to it. 2. Unzip filter.zip file in Filter directory. If a user uses dos version of pkunzip, pkunzip the file with switch -d in order to have all directories and files. It will create OSR2 and Memphis directories and copies drivers in each directory. i.e.) pkunzip filter.zip -d 3. Go to Device Manager (Click on Start-settings-Control Panel-System icon-Device Manager). 4. Double Click on Universal Serial Bus Host section and highlight on "Standard Open Host Controller," select property, click on driver tab. 5. Click on Update driver and follow "Update Device Driver" wizard. Make sure to click on "other location" option and type c:\filter\OSR2 when it searches for updated driver. If it searches 67xftr97.sys file in OSR2 CD then type c:\filter\OSR2 where 67xftr97.sys is located at. If it searches for "Openhci.sys" file then type "c:\windows\system" in location. 6. Check USB Host string in Device Manager. If it shows as "CMD USB 670 PCI to USB Universal Host Controller" then it loaded the filter driver properly. [Memphis (Windows 98)] 1. Make a directory called FILTER in c: root directory and copy filter.zip file to it. 2. Unzip filter.zip file in Filter directory. If a user uses dos version of pkunzip, pkunzip the file with switch -d in order to have all directories and files. It will create OSR2 and Memphis directories and copies drivers in each directory. i.e.) pkunzip filter.zip -d 3. Run regedit program, delete the CMD signature: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ENUM\PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_0670... 4. Go to MS DOS prompt under Memphis and change directory to windows\inf. Next, backup these two files, drvide.bin and drvdata.bin, or delete them. They are the database files for all hardware in your system. Win95 will always rebuilt them if missing. 5. Change directory to c:\filter and copy this file, 67xftr98.inf, to c:\windows\inf directory. Type exit. 6. Reboot the system and follow "Add new hardware wizard" in order to load Microsoft default driver for CMD USB Host Controller. 8. Make sure to click on "specify a location" option and type c:\filter\memphis when it searches for updated driver. If it searches 67xftr98.sys file in Windows 98 CD then type c:\filter\memphis where 67xftr98.sys is located at. 9. Check whether filter driver 67xftr98.sys is installed properly in Device Manager-CMD USB0670 PCI to USB Open Host Controller-property -driver-Driver files detail. If there is 67xftr98.sys, then it is loaded properly.
