Question:
Why refresh rate is only for PnP CRT?
Answer:
Windows 98 will check CRT supporting modes capabilities first, then compare with VGA driver supporting modes capabilities. After comparison, OS will display refresh rates which CRT and VGA driver can support no problem. If CRT is unknown, OS can not get CRT information to compare with VGA driver. In this mean time, refresh rate is decided by VGA BIOS. Then OS will not show refresh rate option for users.

Question:
Why Video memory test of QAPlus fails ?
Answer:
There are couple places reporting video memory information from the VESA function. The first one is in function 0h which report the total video memory on board. The other one is in the mode info. It reports the size of the off screen memory available. Therefore, the total usable (testable)is the sum of on screen memory and available off screen memory. QAPlus check the total board memory only. For DSTN display, it needs additional memory. It is different from CRT or TFT. QAPlus does not know it. That¡¦s reason why video memory test is failure on DSTN. This is a limitation on the testing program.
