The PRO/100 Server adapter is enabled for use in selected servers equipped with hot plug support, running Windows NT 4.0, NetWare 5.x, 4.x, or UnixWare 7, with DDI8 driver. See your server's documentation for more information on setting up and using hot plug support in the server.
If you replace an adapter in a hot plug slot, don't place the removed adapter back into the same network until the server has rebooted, unless it is in the same slot and same team as before. This avoids creating a conflict with both adapters having the same Ethernet address on the same network.
Note for NetWare installations: Make sure you have the latest NetWare support pack installed before using hot plug (see System Requirements to download the support pack). Also, use the parameter "persist=1" on the load line of the driver in Dell servers with hot swap. Dell hot swap software may rename the slot during a hot swap and an error will occur if you try to load the driver on a 'non-existent' card slot.
