ABIT Computer Corporation
PCI_TX1.EXE Installation
Release Reason
As Microsoft Windows 95 was developed before the release of the 430TX
and 440LX chipsets, this software still has no way of correctly recognizing
those chipsets. After installing Windows 95 there are two devices not
being recognized in the device manager. One is the Universal
Serial Bus, another is the PCI Bridge. Each of them having an exclamation mark
in front. For this reason we have released this program. This new batch
program does not only solve the USB-problem, but also incorporates the
earlier version PCI_TX to get rid of the exclamation marks in front of the
PCI bridge.
Installation Procedure :
1. Start PCI_TX1.EXE from within Win95¡C
2. After restarting you system, find:
My computer --> Control Panel --> System --> Device Manager -->
(here click) view devices by connection --> Plug and Play BIOS -->
PCI ports
Now delete all the PCI-devices in this section
Removal Procedure :
1. Install Microsoft USBsupp.EXE
2. Delete all Universal serial bus Controller
in the Control Panel's Device Manager and restart your computer.
After restarting you system, Win95 will ask for the file
uhcd.sys. You can find this file at:
C:\windows\system.
Attention :
1. This program does not really provide USB-support. It only solves the
problem under Windows 95 of having a yellow question mark. In case
you need to use USB-devices, please get Microsoft's USBsupp.EXE program.
2. This program is specifically designed to bridge
Microsoft Windows 95's shortcoming to accuratly recognize the 430TX &
440LX Chipsets. So you should not use it with Win98, as Win98 already
incorporates this function, and installing this driver might cause
conflicts.
