BIOS Update / Recovery Disk
Instructions
- Start a DOS box, or boot the computer into DOS mode
- Change to the CD drive e.g. type E: <ENTER>
- Change to the BIOS directory i.e. CD \BIOS <ENTER>
- Insert a formatted floppy into drive A:
- Run IMAGE.EXE from the CD as follows:
IMAGE TC440R8.HDD A: /M <ENTER>
This will create a boot floppy to upgrade the BIOS.
Important Note
This disk acts as both a BIOS UPDATE disk AND a BIOS RECOVERY disk.
The disk will act as a BIOS UPDATE disk under normal
operating conditions. After booting from the disk, a menu of options is displayed.
To use the disk for BIOS RECOVERY, it is necessary to
drain the 5V standby charge. This can be done as follows:
- Remove the A/C power lead
- Press the ON/OFF switch (to drain any residual charge)
- Reconnect the power lead
- Boot with the UPDATE/RECOVERY disk in drive A:
Please note, video is not enabled during recovery. The system will beep when BIOS
recovery is complete. |
